Your love, God, is my song, and I’ll sing it!
Psalms 89:1 The message
Music. It’s a big part of most peoples life. For us it makes our family dance!!
Starting with my husband singing old county songs to our daughter not even an hour after she was born. This is one of my most precious memories of my husband and daughter. This evolved in to full on dance parties when she started to walk. When our son came along, it was the same. Lots of old country songs to help him sleep and more dance parties even when it was just sister dancing around him. Those are some of my favorite memories with my little family.
Dancing can do so many things for us, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually. There are so many different variations of music. Some days we like to listen to Christian, jazz, big band, old rock, and some days we are more into classical, old country, or a mixture.
Lately we have been listening to one of my favorite artists Andy Grammer. He is amazing because he writes music that not only is great to listen to but also has amazing meaning. My kids favorite right now is Lease on life. The kids yell it at the top of their lungs. It’s just an amazing song for kids to know too. some of the best lyrics are – everything’s gunna be all right, when I look into your eyes, got a brand new lease on life.
The love of music has got me through allot in my life. There are songs that can come on and I’m right back in that time of my life. Some are good memories, so not so good. One might remind me of one of my best friends that I lost to cancer in high school, and the next could remind me of the place that my husband and I met. They all come with a feeling.I know I’m not the only one that feels this about music. What kind of music do you listen to on a good day or a bad day?
Here are a couple of our favorites right now.
We love to listen to anything that’s upbeat with great lyrics. We want the kids to grow up with a wide love of music.
Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs among yourselves making music to the Lord I your heart. – Ephesians 5:19
Whatever music moves you and your family it does not matter. Making those beautiful memories is what truly matter most to us!
Go out there and sing your song! You got this Mama!
