Prayer for the Summer

Summers are some of the greatest times of the year!

Pools, playing outside, picnics, and so much family fun!!

With all the fun there also comes the fact that the kids still need to learn over the summer, figuring out what to do, and the pressures of making this time memorable before the kids go back to school.

Just really spending so much time with the littles and letting them have the childhood summers that they deserve!! This is allot of pressure !

Its hard on parents!! But the good news is that if you are worried about all this… it means that you are already a great parent! So don’t be too hard on yourself when you need a day or days that are just relaxing, and letting your littles be home, playing alone in their space and just shutting the rest of the world out.

We all need the time to decompress and just be in our worlds for a bit.

If you hear “Im bored!” I want you to smile. Being bored is one the greatest things we can give to our children in this ever overstimulating world. This means your little one can use their imagination to entertain themselves, read a book, or do something creative. I think it’s a great thing for our kids to have here and there… a chance to be bored!

So Mamas, be gentle on yourself and let your kids have a summer full of fun adventures, continued learning, and having some time to be bored!

Here’s a little prayer for all you Mamas for the summer!

Lord, we come to you today to pray for comfort, safety and grace for Mamas and littles this summer. Help us to be grateful in the times that the littles are overstimulated, overwhelmed, tired, hot, and hungry. Help us to be the calm for our children. Keep the littles safe while they play, exercise their bodies, and fill their minds with memories. Help us Mamas to find comfort in our parenting. Help us to not compare our summer adventures to others. Help us to be confident in our Motherhood, and show us how to love our children as You love all people. Help us to find balance between being a mother and a woman. Thank you for the littles in our lives, thank you for blessing each and everyone of us. Thank you for creating these little bundles of joy and love. Amen

You got this Mama!!!!

So nicely written. Some great advice and a whole lot of loving thoughts.
I truly enjoyed the don’t compare the summer adventures. It’s sure is the world we live in, if we choose.
Love the ending prayer as it enriches the soul and minds.
It’s a season for kiddos to discover themselves and this big beautiful place where we live. Thanks be to God.
